LEV Conference – Preparing for CoC(Control)

For LEV Specialists working towards  CoC(Control).

LEV Professional Development sessions support LEV Specialists in achieving the highest level of professional accreditation and recognition possible.

The sessions are available to LEV Specialists seeking the award of CoC(Control).

CoC(Control) is the entry level elligibility award for LEV Specialists to join the BOHS Faculty of Occupational Hygiene as a Specialist Licentiate (LFOH(S)).

It is an essential element for LEV professionals wishing to establish their competence in the specific field of “Control of the Working Environment”.

CoC(Control) permits the LEV Specialist to be included in the recently launched PSA Professional Standards Register – the PSR.  This new independent Register is for Occupational Hygienists and Other Specialists (which includes LEV Specialists)

BOHS have consulted with HSE on the delivery of the CoC(Control) qualification and in the preparation and launch of the PSR.

CoC(Control) Preparation Days will take place at the Hilton Hotel, Leicester.  Available dates are shown on the Booking Form opposite.

Preparation Day Programme

Presentation by Kevin Bampton, CEO, BOHS

• • Review of the entry Requirements & Application Process for CoC(Control)

  • The two Pathways to the Award

  • Preparing your CV/Preparing your “Portfolio of Evidence”

  • Application Procedure/Application Costs

Presentation by David Towler, Chief Examiner for LEV, BOHS (also HM Principal Inspector, HSE)

• • Competency and CoC(Control)/PSR etc

  • How CoC(Control) Inter-relates with the PSR

  • Feedback on changes within BOHS Relating to LEV Training Courses

Presentation on the Professional Interview and introduction to the Mock Panel Interviews which will take place in the afternoon session

• • The Professional Discussion Interview (format/content)

  • Panel sessions with delegates to run through sample/Mock “Professional Interviews” where the panel will run though typical questions from past interviews.

  • Feedback on the trial Mock Sessions

Final Round-up Questions & Answers Session

Refreshments and a simple buffet lunch will be provided.
